In Vinkel (Noord-Brabant, a province in the Netherlands) it is possible to rent a duo trike free of charge. A while ago, some active people in Vinkel founded the working group Duofiets (duo bike). They have been able to purchase a duo trike and from 1 April 2021 it is possible to cycle together with a volunteer / cycling buddy.
Residential care centre for the elderly Careaz J.W. Andriessen has received a Van Raam VeloPlus wheelchair bike at the end of February 2021. They were able to purchase this wheelchair bike through the program 'Waardigheid en Trots' (Dignity and Pride) of the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. In England the Chat rickshaw bike is being used to transport elderly to the vaccination office. Bury St Edmunds offers free rickshaw deliveries and rides with their two rickshaw bikes, recently the Van Raam Chat rickshaw bike was added to this.
There are numerous tandem bike accessories to set up the tandem bike for just about any use. We produce each tandem individually, For example, we can make the tandems with the handlebars in the front or rear, depending on what you prefer.
Maria Romp and Freerk de Boer started the foundation ‘Onbeperkt op de Fiets’ (red. Riding a bike without limits). They want to let everyone cycle in the northern Netherlands. They do this by the rental of adapted bicycles. To raise money for their foundation, they plan a fundraising by cycling from Haren (Groningen, Netherlands) to Santiago de Compostella.
