Quality, standards, and certifications
Every vanRaam bike is built to meet rigorous standards, not because we have to, but because quality is the point. Here's an overview of the certifications, compliance frameworks, and independent bodies that recognise what we do and how we do it.
CE Declaration
Every vanRaam bike is delivered with a CE Declaration, confirming compliance with the relevant European standards and directives. This applies to all models across the range.
ISO 9001:2015
vanRaam is certified to ISO 9001:2015, the internationally recognised standard for quality management. Certification demonstrates that we meet consistent requirements for the quality of our products and services, and that we have structured processes in place for continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
More about our ISO-certificate
Machinery Directive
vanRaam bikes comply with the EU Machinery Directive, which sets health and safety requirements for powered machinery, including electric bikes and adapted cycles placed on the European market.

Radio Equipment Directive (RED)
Our electric bikes include a telematics module that uses the radio spectrum. The Radio Equipment Directive ensures this equipment meets essential health and safety requirements and does not cause interference with other devices. All vanRaam electric models comply fully.
Medical Device Regulation (MDR)
Under European MDR legislation, vanRaam bikes are classified as medical devices and are subject to the requirements of the Medical Devices Regulation. Each product group carries a unique Basic-UDI-DI on its declaration of conformity, and every individual bike carries a unique frame number and barcode. Together these form the UDI or Unique Device Identification required under MDR.
In addition to traceability, MDR requires Post Market Surveillance and Clinical Investigation to confirm that products in use continue to perform as intended.
Firevaned membership
vanRaam is a member of Firevaned, the Dutch branch organisation for rehabilitation and mobility aids. Membership represents a commitment to quality, service, and accessibility across the industry.
National Services Quality Label (Nationaal Keurmerk Hulpmiddelen)
The National Services Quality Label is an independent certification managed by Firevaned. It recognises companies that demonstrate the highest standards of service, quality, and accessibility in the supply of mobility aids. vanRaam holds this certification as part of its commitment to the people it serves.

Code of Conduct for Medical Devices
As a supplier of medical devices, vanRaam has signed and operates in accordance with the Code of Conduct for Medical Devices. The Code establishes clear rules of conduct between suppliers, healthcare professionals, and healthcare institutions, ensuring transparency and responsible practice on all sides.
Social Enterprise Performance Ladder (PSO) — Step 3
vanRaam holds Step 3 on the Social Enterprise Performance Ladder, the highest level of this independent certification developed by TNO. It confirms that vanRaam directly and indirectly employs more people with a distance to the labour market than comparable organisations, and that we actively encourage our suppliers and contractors to do the same.
