vanRaam awards and recognition
Good design gets noticed. Over the years vanRaam has received recognition from industry experts, trade publications, and independent testing bodies across Europe for the quality of our bikes, our electric assist system, and the way we run our business. Here's a summary of the awards and honours we're most proud of.
Top marks from ElektroRad — two bikes put to the test
German cycling trade magazine ElektroRad put both the Easy Rider Explore and the Thuja through their paces in 2026, testing how each performs in everyday use and on longer rides. Both bikes impressed in the real world, with the Easy Rider Explore coming away with a "very good" rating, and the Thuja earned a "good."
ProDays Award 2025 — Best Product Development Team
At the EDDY du Vélo ceremony at ProDays 2025, the Thuja won its third award, this time for Best Product Development Team. The prize was awarded by a jury of industry experts and journalists, with visitor votes also counted. It recognises the collaboration and craft that went into bringing the Thuja to market.

EuroBike Award 2025
At EuroBike 2025, the Thuja received the EuroBike Award in the e-bike category. One of the most respected awards in the cycling industry, the EuroBike Award is judged by an international panel of experts from hundreds of submitted products. It was the second major award the Thuja received, and the first time it had been seen in public.

Dutch Manufacturers Top 100 — 37th place (2025), 38th place (2026)
In 2025, vanRaam secured 37th place in the Makers Top 100, a ranking of the best manufacturing companies in the Netherlands based on financial performance. In 2026 we retained our position at 38th. The list covers machine building, metal and electronics manufacturing, furniture, shipbuilding, and transport equipment.
Dynamo Retail Innovation Award 2024
Before the Thuja had even launched, it was named the most innovative product at the Dynamo Retail Group awards by professionals in the cycling retail industry. As Jolien Heeman, Director of Product Management, said at the time: "It's a confirmation from the industry that we have achieved something truly remarkable."

Finalist, Koning Willem I Award 2020
vanRaam was shortlisted for the Koning Willem I Award in the SME category, described by the foundation as the Oscars for Dutch business. The award recognises companies that have demonstrated courage, perseverance, innovation, and sustainable business practice. Queen Máxima presents the award to the winner.

Guus Hiddink Business Award 2019
vanRaam won the Guus Hiddink Business Award, presented at a ceremony in Doetinchem. The award is given to a company in the Achterhoek region that sets an example for others through its business approach. Financial and HRM Director Marjolein Boezel accepted the award on behalf of the team.

EuroBike Gold Award 2019
In September 2019, vanRaam won the EuroBike Gold Award for the Chat rickshaw bike, taking first place in the LEV and E-Special Purpose Bikes category. The jury noted the Chat's quality of detail, ease of riding, and the range of safety features, including visibility through the optional canopy.

ExtraEnergy Test Winner 2018–2019
vanRaam's Silent System pedal assist won in three categories at the ExtraEnergy test 2018–2019: Family, Lifestyle, and Tour. The test involved 72 bikes fitted with drive systems from major manufacturers including Shimano, Bosch, and Yamaha. The Silent System was particularly praised for motor power and range. It had also won in every ExtraEnergy test from 2012 to 2017.

Gelderland Factory of the Future 2018
vanRaam was one of seven companies in the Gelderland region selected to receive funding for the Factory of the Future programme, recognising investment in sustainable and innovative manufacturing.
Innovation Top 100 2018
vanRaam reached 90th place in the Dutch Innovation Top 100 with the submission of its smart IoT bike concept, and finished in the top 10 in the public vote.
Royal Metal Union Smart People Award 2015
vanRaam won the Royal Metal Union's Smart People Award at both district and national level, recognised as an innovator, a stable employer with varied and high-quality work, and a strong contributor to the wider community.
