In January 2019 Van Raam moved into the new company building at Guldenweg 23 in Varsseveld. Meanwhile, Van Raam has continued to grow and is short of space in the current building. Therefore, Van Raam has build a new building, located directly next to the large commercial building. The building was ready in early 2022. At the end of this year (2018) /start of next year (2019) we will move with the entire company to a different location in Varsseveld, the Netherlands. The new building of Van Raam, with a size of approximately 13,500 m2, is designed by ERS Architekten bna from Terborg (the Netherlands) and will be built on a plot of 25,000 m2.
As a producer of special needs bicycles, all Van Raam bicycles are produced in our own factory in Varsseveld. One of the advantages of this is that we can develop the bike completely to the customer's wishes. Every Van Raam bicycle can be equipped with a lot of options to make the bike suitable. If this is not enough, frame adjustments are possible or we make larger adjustments and we tailor the bike completely. For example, we recently made a special Easy Rider Small tricycle for Tim.
In 2009, the then 70-year-old Gunda Krauss from Germany cycled on her three-wheeled bicycle Easy Rider from Munich to Rügen. This trip was more than 1200 kilometers and together with her dog Sauser, this trip took 49 days. For several years, Gunda has been working to write a book about this adventurous journey. With the help of crowdfunding, Gunda hopes to raise money so that is possible to release her book in the summer of 2018.
Our side-by-side tandem Fun2Go 1 has several options for the driver and the co-driver concerning the driving mechanism, also known as the gears.
Since February 9, 2018, an adult day center in Beek en Donk (the Netherlands) has a Fun2Go side-by-side tandem with a double rider trailer. With the help of a local supermarket, donations and a few campaigns, the clients and caregivers of ‘Zorgboerderij de Liesvelden’ saved enough money. From now on they will cycle with their double rider cycle and thanks to the trailer, it is possible to cycle with four people at once. With the electrical pedal support, the clients and caregivers can cycle without too much effort.
Dutch race bicyclist and Olympic champion Anna van der Breggen has unveiled the new wheelchair bike and side-by-side tandem to De Hazelaar in Hasselt (Netherlands) festively. After the wrapping paper was removed in front of employees and clients of the residential care facility, the bicycles were put into use.
Hersenletsel on Tour, a working group of patient association Hersenletsel.nl, organises an annual bicycle tour to draw attention to TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). In 2021 and 2022 Hersenletsel on Tour could not take place due to corona.
As the manufacturer of special needs bicycles, we are not only producing special bicycles, we also develop, design, produce and test the bicycles. The Fun2Go side by side bike, side by side tandem, double rider or companion bike is appropriate if your cycling partner has difficulties with riding a bike independently, or if you just want to cycle side by side.
