Van Raam produces uniquely special needs bicycles and specializes in tricycles, transport bikes, scooterbikes, wheelchair bikes, tandem bikes, double rider bikes, and low step trough bikes (also known as comfortbikes). Each model is also available as an electric bike (Pedelec).

In an interview with the ABN AMRO (a Dutch bank), Marjolein Boezel, Van Raam's finance and HRM director, explains that Van Raam has now become the world market leader in special needs bikes. In the beginning of 2019, Van Raam has moved to the new bicycle factory in Varsseveld. From the beginning, it was clear that the new factory had to have a sustainable climate system. With various parties, Van Raam has designed a sustainable factory. Now, the climate system is fully in use.
The last weeks few weeks were all about Christmas, New Year’s Eve and the beginning of 2019. Despite this, our employees were also finishing the new Van Raam factory. Meanwhile, the first official working week after the holidays is almost over and we look back on a week of finishing things up but also starting new things. In this article we look back on the period of the Christmas holidays and we give you the most recent updates and photos of our new business premises.
In our factory where we produce adaptive bicycles, we use a lot of modern machines. Many different steel pipes arrive in our production department, after which they are processed and eventually shaped into bicycle frames. Various machines are used to process the many pipes and a welding robot connects all parts together. It is quite a job to move all these machines to our new premises. That is why the large 3D laser machine has already been brought to the new Van Raam factory.
Kingspan (supplier of sustainable, high-quality products for the construction sector) has used Van Raam and the new Van Raam premises at Guldenweg 23 in Varsseveld, the Netherlands as an example project to show the processing of cavity wall insulation.
