Park Centre is a community for Healthy Living active adults 55 and over in Newton, Iowa. The residents now have a Van Raam side by side tandem. They received their bicycle on September 11th, 2018. The Van Raam double rider cycle was purchased from our USA-dealer All Ability Cycles.
Jimmy Gustafson has a wheelchair taxi service in the town of Porvoo, Finland. With the Van Raam VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike they cycle 5 days a week from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and they transport 4 to 8 people on a day, these are mainly elderly people.
Over 30 residents from several nursing homes from the Liemers and the Achterhoek went for a bike ride through the hills of Montferland. Here they all biked 10 to 15 kilometers. The event stems from the Dutch bicycle racing championships that were held in the Montferland municipality last year. Several healthcare institutions in the Netherlands and Belgium have a Fun2Go side-by-side tandem into use since March 2018. Thanks to local campaigns and sponsoring, the financing for these three-wheel tandems has been made possible. Every healthcare institution, including InteraktContour, an institution for people who experience problems because of a brain injury, has its own story. Three residential care homes in Zwolle (in the eastern part of the Netherlands) received a wheelchair bicycle at the end of April 2018. This wheelchair transport bike VeloPlus was sponsored by the municipality of Zwolle, among others. A City Council Member was present at the festive delivery, where the bike was tested by a resident of one of the centers.
Our side-by-side tandem Fun2Go 1 has several options for the driver and the co-driver concerning the driving mechanism, also known as the gears.
Since February 9, 2018, an adult day center in Beek en Donk (the Netherlands) has a Fun2Go side-by-side tandem with a double rider trailer. With the help of a local supermarket, donations and a few campaigns, the clients and caregivers of ‘Zorgboerderij de Liesvelden’ saved enough money. From now on they will cycle with their double rider cycle and thanks to the trailer, it is possible to cycle with four people at once. With the electrical pedal support, the clients and caregivers can cycle without too much effort.
Dutch race bicyclist and Olympic champion Anna van der Breggen has unveiled the new wheelchair bike and side-by-side tandem to De Hazelaar in Hasselt (Netherlands) festively. After the wrapping paper was removed in front of employees and clients of the residential care facility, the bicycles were put into use.
Hersenletsel on Tour, a working group of patient association Hersenletsel.nl, organises an annual bicycle tour to draw attention to TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury). In 2021 and 2022 Hersenletsel on Tour could not take place due to corona.
