The vanRaam Twinny Plus is an electric tandem tricycle for adults and the three-wheel version of the Twinny tandem. Two rear wheels instead of one mean you stay upright when stationary, no balancing, no holding the bike, just get on and ride. Everything else that makes the Twinny work, with extra stability built in.
Stable from the moment you stop: the vanRaam Twinny Plus
The key difference between the Twinny and the Twinny Plus is straightforward: two rear wheels rather than one. The bike stays upright on its own, making getting on and off easier and removing the need to balance at junctions or traffic lights. For co-riders who find balance challenging, it makes the whole experience more comfortable and more confident.
The same low step-through, the same smooth-running frame, and the same optional freewheel hub as the Twinny, with three wheels underneath.
The freewheel hub
The vanRaam Twinny Plus can be fitted with a switchable freewheel hub so the main rider can control how the co-rider pedals: Two modes are available with front steering: both pedals linked so the co-rider pedals in sync, or co-rider pedals running free so they can rest or move at their own pace. With rear steering, a third mode allows the co-rider to pedal independently.
Intelligent assistance built in
The Twinny Plus is available with vanRaam's Silent System electric pedal assist. Near-silent, individually programmable, and with start assist for smooth pull-aways. Makes longer distances and hillier terrain much more manageable for both riders.

Hi, my name is Mieke Klinkenberg and I am the mother of Tessel Klinkenberg (22), she is my youngest daughter. Because of her downsyndrome Tessel can't cycle independently. She has never learned this and never really wanted to learn. Since childhood we have been cycling on a tandem and Tessel loves that very much!
vanRaam has its own electric pedal assist system, known as the Silent System. This system has been fully developed by vanRaam, specifically for the special needs bikes.
