Steering front- or backsite

Van Raam's Twinny and Twinny Plus tandems are standard equipped with front steering. This means that the front person on the tandem has control over the bike. As an option, these tandems can be equipped with rear steering. With rear steering, it is important that the person in front is smaller. The rear driver/ main driver must be able to see over the front person for a good view of the road. This is why we often recommend a modified frame for rear steering because the rear driver cannot see over the co-driver with a standard frame.

Order this option at your Van Raam dealer

You can order this option from your Van Raam dealer when you order a Van Raam bicycle. It is not possible to have this option mounted on your bike afterward.
