Wheelchair bike for residential care facility
De Schauw in Putten (the Netherlands), a residential care facility for the elderly, received a Van Raam VeloPlus wheelchair bicycle sponsored by the local thrift store. This thrift store has existed for 35 years and has therefore held a special fundraising campaign. The festive handover of the wheelchair bike was in September 2018.
Side-by-side tandem for residents of retirement center
Park Centre is a community for Healthy Living active adults 55 and over in Newton, Iowa. The residents now have a Van Raam side by side tandem. They received their bicycle on September 11th, 2018. The Van Raam double rider cycle was purchased from our USA-dealer All Ability Cycles.
Tricycles tested in a Dutch National Park with British end user Henry
At the end of August our colleague Marnix and Henry, an English end user of a Van Raam tricycle, made a nice trip to the Dutch National Park De Hoge Veluwe with the Easy Sport and the Easy Rider tricycles. Our USA Van Raam dealer Lancaster Recumbent moved
The small family owned business Lancaster Recumbent opened their store in 2014. The store has over 75 different types of recumbent bikes, but they are also experienced and certified in other special needs bicycles. In March 2018 they moved to Marietta. They now have a larger shop, about 10 miles from the previous location.
Wheelchair bicycle taxi service in Finland
Jimmy Gustafson has a wheelchair taxi service in the town of Porvoo, Finland. With the Van Raam VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike they cycle 5 days a week from 12 p.m. until 4 p.m. and they transport 4 to 8 people on a day, these are mainly elderly people.

Government makes 100 million euro investment for bike tracks and bike shelters
Of course, everyone already knew that biking is good for your health and fortunately more and more people are starting to act accordingly. Figures of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management show that the amount of time people spend biking has increased with 12% since 2005. Secretary of state Van Veldhoven (infrastructure and water management) wishes to see this number increase even more. Her goals is to stimulate another 200,000 commuters to take the bicycle instead of the car, which would result in 3 billion extra kilometers ridden by bike.
Elderly on tricycle tandems through the hills of Montferland
Over 30 residents from several nursing homes from the Liemers and the Achterhoek went for a bike ride through the hills of Montferland. Here they all biked 10 to 15 kilometers. The event stems from the Dutch bicycle racing championships that were held in the Montferland municipality last year.
