Cycling together with a child

In addition to the single-person bicycles for children, Van Raam also offers bicycles in which, for example, a parent, another family member or a therapist can cycle with the child. Our Kivo Tandem and Kivo Plus three-wheel tandem, as well as the OPair wheelchair bike or the Fun2Go double rider cycle are suitable for this. Read more about these bikes below.

Kivo tandem

The Kivo is a child-parent tandem with a grown-up sitting behind and a child sitting in front. The child can get a good view of the environment. The rider sitting behind can always keep a good watch on the child. The Kivo has a low step through and therefore, is easier to use. You can order the Kivo tandem with various options. Normally the Kivo has 8 gears and a freewheel switch. You can use the switchable freewheel to determine with 3 positions whether and how the passenger pedals.

These are the three positions:

  1. This is a function with a continuous movement of the pedal and the co-driver must pedal along.

  2. The pedals of the co-driver move independently of the pedals of the main driver. The pedals run freely and the co-driver cannot cycle.

  3. In this position, the pedals of the co-driver move independently of the pedals of the main driver. The co-driver can cycle along.

Fun2Go double rider cycle

With the Fun2Go double rider cycle, two people can sit next to each other and cycle instead of sitting behind each other. One person steers, both can pedal.  The riders can get on without having to step through and the seats can be easily adjusted to the required distance with a lever. The two persons have a good view and can communicate well with each other due to the seats being next to each other. There is an optional electric engine to give power assist to help you cycle under any circumstances easily.

OPair wheelchair bike

The OPair is a wheelchair bike with which you can transport a wheelchair user. A seat for the wheelchair user/passenger is affixed to the front of the bike. From the back, the cyclist has an overview of the road and view on the passenger. On the split frame version, the front part is easy to remove from the cycling component, which enables use as a wheelchair on location. The slightly angled front wheels provide increased driving comfort and stability.

Because of your beautiful product, David, our youngest son with light Cerebral Palsy, could participate with the bicycle parade in the district (Wijkfeest Zuidlanden 2018) this weekend. Participating is so important! The festivalparade was this year for the first time and all children had a decorated bicycle. David's Husky tricycle was in the theme that suits him best!
