1. What is the Kivo tandem?

The Kivo is a tandem on which a parent or caregiver can cycle together with a child. The child is in front of the tandem and the parent behind. This way the driver (the parent or caregiver) always has a good view of the child and the road.

2. For whom is the Kivo van Van Raam suitable?

The Kivo is a two wheel tandem suitable for children who are not able to cycle independently (anymore). On the Kivo, they can enjoy a bike ride on a tandem with a caregiver.

3. How does a Kivo parent child tandem cycle?

The Kivo has standard 8 gears, rear steering and a switchable freewheel. The switcheble freewheel hub has three positions:

  1. This is a function with a continuous movement of the pedal and the co-driver must pedal along.

  2. The pedals of the co-driver move independently of the pedals of the main driver. The pedals run freely and the co-driver cannot cycle.

4. What inside leg length should you have for the Kivo?

The Kivo is suitable for children with an inside leg length of 50-62 cm. The driver should have an inner leg length of 77-89 cm. It is possible as an option to adjust the frame of the Kivo in height. See the table below for the inside leg lengths for the different frame sizes.
