What is a Smart E-Bike?

All electric vanRaam bikes with the original vanRaam electrical system and delivered from May 2016 remain smart e-bikes. With the vanRaam e-bike app you can connect to the (silent) smart display by Bluetooth connection and see a lot of information.

What can you do with the vanRaam e-bike app?

  • Change support mode

  • View information about the bike

  • See how many kilometers you have cycled

  • Check the battery capacity.

How do you recognize a smart e-bike

Do you have a vanRaam bicycle with the vanRaam electrical system delivered after May 2016? Then you have smart e-bike. You can recognise the vanRaam electro system by:

  • The (silent) smart display

  • The backwards cycling function

  • The motors

  • The batteries

  • The individually adjustable pedal support

  • Lighting via the electrical system

How do you use your smart e-bike?

A smart e-bike is smart from the moment it leaves our factory. Download the vanRaam E-Bike App, and you can practically be on your way. All you have to do is create an account. Then you can connect the e-bike app to the display via Bluetooth. Once the display is ready to connect to a smartphone, a Bluetooth icon will appear on the silent smart display. On the smart display, which is found on electric vanRaam bikes before 2024, the on/off button briefly turns blue.

You can download vanRaam e-bike app via the Google Play Store (Android) or via de Apple App Store (IOS) for free.

Which vanRaam bicycles are suitable for the vanRaam e-bike app?

All vanRaam bicycles with the original vanRaam pedal support system delivered since 2019 (and equipped with the (silent) smart display) are ready for the app. Older vanRaam bicycles or vanRaam bicycles that still have the oval display can be converted at vanRaam. Please contact vanRaam for more information.

Is my bike suitable for the use of the vanRaam E-bike App?

Yes you can, if you have a (silent) smart display. You can download the vanRaam e-bike app via the Google Play Store for Android or the Apple App Store for IOS.

Where can I download the vanRaam E-Bike App?

vanRaam's E-Bike App can be downloaded for free in Google Play Store (Android) or via de Apple App Store (IOS) for free.

I have not received a confirmation email, what now?

First, please check all the folders in your inbox, including the spam folder. Not all email systems are equally well supported. We advise you to use systems such as Gmail, Hotmail or iCloud, where there are almost no problems.

Where can I find my frame number?

The frame number is on the frame of your bike and is made up of eleven digits. In the article: The frame number on the special needs bikes from vanRaam you will find a chart of where you can find the sticker with the frame number for each bike.

What are the advantages of a vanRaam Smart E-Bike?

With the vanRaam e-bike app you can make use of many advantages of a smart e-bike:

  • View bike information such as color, motor type, and frame number

  • Change support mode

  • Check the battery capacity

  • See how many kilometers you have cycled

I don't have a vanRaam bike, can I use the app?

No, unfortunately, you cannot use the app with another brand of (adapted) bike.

I do have a vanRaam bike, but no pedal support. Can I use the app?

No, to use the app you need a vanRaam bike with the original vanRaam pedal support system.

How do I connect my bicycle with the vanRaam e-bike app?

When your bike is connected to the app, you can use the app. Read more about connecting your bike to the app later in this article. The vanRaam e-bike app offers various features. On the 'Programs' page, for example, you can switch between support programs. Additionally, you can also view information about your bike.
