With the VeloPlus wheelchair transport bikee you can transport one person in a wheelchair. The VeloPlus is a wheelchair transport bicycle from Van Raam. This bicycle has a tiltable platform at the front of the bicycle, on which a person can easily be placed in a wheelchair. If you want to transport a wheelchair on the VeloPlus, please follow the step-by-step instructions below to place the wheelchair safely and easily.
The bicycle must be parked and with the parking brake fastened.
Remove the safety pin.
Pull the lever upwards so that the ramp plate is unlocked and falls down.
Push the wheelchair backwards up the ramp. It is important, that you place the wheelchair on the ramp only in the direction of travel.
Move the wheelchair backwards until the drive-up ramp folds up and locks automatically with a clicking sound.
Caution: Make sure that the drive-on ramp is locked! Otherwise very dangerous situations can occur. If the drive-on plate does not lock, press with your foot until the plate locks into place.
Secure the wheelchair using the three straps. Press the button so that the belt comes loose and attach the hook to the wheelchair. Then turn the star shaped knob to tighten the belt.
Make sure that as soon as the wheelchair is placed on the ramp, the ramp locks automatically and you hear an audible click.
Finally, fasten the seat belt around the passenger.
Insert the safety pin back into the lever.
To remove the wheelchair from the wheelchair bike, follow these steps in reverse order.
The VeloPlus from Van Raam is a transport bike for a wheelchair user. A wheelchair user can be transported with this bicycle in his or her own (hand-operated) wheelchair with a maximum width of 72cm. The wheelchair can be placed on the tilting ramp and after securing the wheelchair, the driver and wheelchair user can enjoy a wonderful bicycle ride. It is possible to equip the VeloPlus wheelchair transport wheel with a cable winch in a winch system as a new option. The winch makes it easier to put the wheelchair on the wheelchair wheel.
