Whether you're heading out for a morning ride, running errands, or simply making the most of a fine day, the vanRaam Easy Rider makes it feel natural again. A third-generation recumbent tricycle, refined over decades, and still one of the most versatile bikes we build.
The Easy Rider bike features a remarkably low boarding height and a uniquely low centre of gravity, help you feel stable from the moment you get on. Getting on and off is straightforward, and once you’re moving, the forward pedalling position and built-in suspension keep the ride smooth and comfortable.
The seat adjusts easily with a quick-release lever and includes back support, lower lumbar support, and raised side edges for extra comfort and stability. This makes the Easy Rider an ideal tricycle for adults who value safety and comfort.
It comes in two frame sizes, Medium and Large, suitable for riders with an inseam of 65cm to 108cm, and supports riders up to 140kg, with a reinforced version available up to 180kg.
The Easy Rider also fits through a standard doorway, making it easier to store at home than you might expect.
The sleek, hydroformed frame gives the Easy Rider a confident, modern look, closer to a sports bike than a traditional tricycle. All cabling runs through the frame, creating a cleaner look and better protection from the elements.
Its agile turning circle makes light work of town centres and narrow paths alike. Hydraulic disc brakes front and rear, a parking brake, steering limiter, and integrated lighting all come as standard.
A durable luggage tray with quick-release straps is included, and the platform slides with the seat so the bike can be shortened for easier storage.
For riders who want more, there's a wide range of options, from shopping baskets and mirrors to mountain gears and puncture-resistant SmartGuard tyres.
Add electric pedal assist, and the ride becomes even easier. The motor is positioned near the rear wheel, delivering smooth, responsive support developed by vanRaam specifically for adapted cycling. Range runs from around 29km to 94km, depending on conditions and assist level.
The Easy Rider is a smart e-bike, meaning you can switch between assist modes via the vanRaam app. You can add a second battery for longer rides, and if one runs low, you can swap without stopping. The battery charges directly on the bike through an external port built into the backrest, so there’s no need to remove it.
Choose your frame size, Medium or Large, then configure the rest around you. Electric assist or without, standard colours including Ocean Blue and Yellow Orange, or any RAL colour you choose.
Add a shopping basket, mirrors, mountain gears, or puncture-resistant SmartGuard tyres. Every bike is built to your specification, by hand, at our factory in Varsseveld.
