Customer Experience Balance Low Step-Through Bike - Britta Faltynski
Since March 2025, Britta has had a Balance low step-through bike due to a knee injury. She took two test rides at Van Raam in Varsseveld and is very satisfied with both the bike and the service. Cycling with a Knee Injury
“My name is Britta and I am 59 years old. I live in an apartment in beautiful Hünxe, Germany. The area is known for its natural surroundings, such as the Hohe Mark Nature Park. I enjoy working in my garden, spending time with my cat, and recently, I have also been enjoying cycling again.
Since March 2025, I have had a Balance low step-through bike. I purchased it because I have a knee injury, which unfortunately makes it impossible for me to mount a traditional two-wheeled bicycle. I use the Balance in my local area, and when possible, I cycle between 10 and 25 kilometres per week. So far, I have already cycled 50 kilometres on the low step-through bike.”
Balance Low Step-Through Bike
“Because I bought a helmet with the bike, added a red direction indicator on the back, and wear a neon yellow jacket, I quickly got the nickname ‘Knight Rider’. That’s why my bike’s name is now ‘KIT’. In addition, my low step-through bike has a mirror and electric pedal support. The Balance has an extremely low step-through, making getting on and off very comfortable. Thanks to the saddle being positioned slightly backwards, I can always have both feet on the ground when I stop. The slightly different seating position means you pedal more forward, which provides more power on the pedals. The low step-through bike rides very smoothly even without pedal support, and for my purposes, it has a strong motor with sufficient battery capacity.”

“I found out about Van Raam through a bike shop in Dinslaken. This shop is not a Van Raam dealer themselves, but they recommended Van Raam to me. I then visited the website and looked up information about the Balance. I also found the customer experiences very interesting and enjoyable to read. Eventually, I discovered the option to book a test ride at Van Raam in Varsseveld via the website. I immediately made an appointment, combined with a visit to the beautiful neighbouring country, the Netherlands!”
Consultation with Resi
“The very friendly advisor Resi took a lot of time for me. First, she explained a lot about the bike, showed me how it works, and eventually we went to the test track. Because I hadn’t cycled for a long time, during my first test ride I was mainly focused on just riding a few metres straight. Resi invited me for a second test ride, which took place a week later. Then I could focus more on cycling itself and got to experience cycling with pedal support. Resi really did her best and guided me excellently. The service at Van Raam is completely in line with the quality of the bike. I couldn’t have been helped better, not even if I had bought a Rolls Royce.”
The Balance has an extremely low step-through, making getting on and off very comfortable.
