How many wheels does a tandem bike have?
With a tandem bike it is possible to cycle with more than one person. Someone who can no longer participate in traffic independently, but is still able to cycle (with others), can enjoy a bike ride in this way. How many wheels on a tandem bike, depends of the type of tandem. There are several tandems available in the Van Raam tandem range which each has a different number of wheels.
Tandem bicycle with two wheels
One of the more famous tandems that can be seen in the streets is the two-wheeled tandem bike. Just like a regular bicycle, this tandem has one wheel at the front of the bike and one wheel at the back of the bike. At Van Raam, the Kivo and Twinny are both tandems with two wheels.
Tandem bicycle with three wheels
Besides the tandems with two wheels, there are also tandems with two wheels at the back and one wheel at the front. These tandems with three wheels are extra stable because of the second rear wheel. It makes getting on and of the bike very easy. The Twinny Plus, Kivo Plus and the duo bike Fun2Go are all tandem bicycles with three wheels.
