How do I attach the hood of the Van Raam Chat rickshaw bike?

In the front seat of the Chat rickshaw bicycle, two people can be transported. Optionally, the Chat can be expanded with a hood, so passengers are protected from the weather. See in this article with video how to attach and remove the hood on the rickshaw bike.

Step 1:

Take the extra tubes and insert the bent tubes into the fixing points.

Step 2:

Secure the tube by placing the locking pin, close the retaining pin bracket so that it wraps around the pipe. Look out! Be careful not to pinch your fingers while closing pin bracket.

Unroll the canvas of the hood and open the hood.

Step 5:

Attach the poppers of the hood to the seat and close both zippers at the back of the hood.

Pull on the end of the straps to tighten the fabric.

Step 6:

Open the buckle and hook the eyes of the straps around the round lugs attached to the bench.

Pull on the end of the straps to tighten the fabric. Close the buckles to keep the straps tight and fasten the elastic around the hooks again.

Step 8:

You are ready to cycle! Let's all cycle!

Read below how to disassemble the hood including the frame and store it safely.

Step 1:

Open the buckle and release the tension of all straps and unhook the rings from the lugs.

Step 2:

Open the zippers on both sides of the hood and detach the poppers from the hood and the bench.

Stap 3:

Fold both sides of the hood on the roof.

Push the front and rear of the frame of the hood towards each other
Push the front and rear of the frame towards each other.

Step 4:

Push the front and rear of the frame towards each other.

Step 5:

Fold the canvas tightly over the folded structure. Attention! The back side must be rolled up along the bottom. Then fasten with the elastic.

Step 6:

The rolled hood and frame can be lifted from the bended tubes.

Step 7:

Place the hood on the two lower hooks that can be found on the rear of the bench.

Step 8:

Place the frame in the top two hooks and fix them with the elastic cords.

Step 9:

Remove the securing pin by opening the brace and pulling the pin out of the hole. Make sure to hold the bended tube to prevent the tube from sliding down.

Step 10:

The bended tubes can be stored in the rear of the bench.
