Customer experience Easy Rider tricycle – Gerard Lentferink
Cycling was Gerard's great passion. However, after a cerebral infarction, this was no longer possible. A rehabilitation program was initiated, and after relearning to walk, it was time for cycling. This is when Gerard came into contact with an Easy Rider tricycle. Read his experience below.
Rehabilitation after a cerebral infarction
Gerard: “Cycling (on a racing bike) was my passion, but after a cerebral infarction in 1975, I could no longer walk, let alone cycle. After relearning to walk with a walker, it was time for cycling. However, because I had no balance at all, it was dangerous for both myself and other road users. I didn't want a mobility scooter (yet), but then what did I want?”
After a test ride of no less than 200 kilometres, I also bought an Easy Rider.

“An adapted bike might be a solution. A friend allowed me to borrow a Van Raam Easy Rider for a few weeks to try it out. However, a few weeks turned into a few months. I was immediately sold! And after a test ride of approximately 200 kilometres, I also bought an Easy Rider. Previously, the entire Gelderland and Salland region in the Netherlands were my cycling area, now it's roughly the entire Achterhoek region and part of the Salland region. My motto in this regard is: the shortest route is not always the most beautiful route.
Despite a second cerebral infarction and a pulmonary embolism, I have ridden over 50,000 kilometers with the Easy Rider tricycle in 6 years, and I realized that I was really ready for a new tricycle. Of course, it has become another Easy Rider!”
