Customer Experience Easy Rider Compact Tricycle – Carla
Due to balance issues, I hadn’t cycled for six years. Thanks to the Easy Rider Compact tricycle from vanRaam, I can now cycle to the sea again. What a sense of freedom! Read more about my experience with this tricycle below.
From Bicycle to Tricycle
“My name is Carla* and I am 72 years old. I live in the Netherlands, in a ground-floor apartment. I enjoy spending my days sculpting, reading, walking, and cycling!
Because of my balance problems, I can no longer ride a two-wheeled bicycle. Since July 2024, I have had the Easy Rider Compact tricycle, and I am incredibly happy with it! I mainly use the tricycle for longer bike rides, especially when the weather is nice. Sometimes I also use it for grocery shopping, although it’s only suitable for small amounts. By now, I have already cycled about 550 kilometers on it.”
Learning to Ride a Tricycle
“When I first started with the Easy Rider Compact, I needed guidance from an occupational therapist. Riding a tricycle is really different from a two-wheeled bicycle, which I hadn’t expected. Overcoming my fear was especially challenging, but with some help and practice, it got better and better.
The comfort of a tricycle is ideal for my balance issues. What makes it extra pleasant for me are the convenient options I had installed on my Easy Rider Compact. For example, I chose pedal assistance, which allows me to cycle longer distances effortlessly. The Cube easy release option makes it simple to remove the battery from its holder for charging, without needing much strength. I also have a one-hand-operated lock and SmartGuard tyres. Finally, I have mirrors on both sides, so I always have a good view of the traffic behind me.”

A Special Cycling Adventure
“The best moment with my Easy Rider Compact was the first time I cycled through the meadows and along the ditches to the sea in the early evening. What a feeling of freedom! At that moment, I hadn’t cycled for six years, so it was extra special. So wonderful! Along the way, I am often approached by people who are curious about my bike. They give compliments and ask about my experiences, which always leads to nice conversations.”
Purchase and Service
“I bought my tricycle at De Zorgshop Heiloo in the Netherlands. The contact was excellent: professional, customer-friendly, and with good advice. The dealer was proactive, gave clear explanations, and even took into account the limited space in my storage area. Since most bikes are too wide or too long, I was happy that the Easy Rider Compact fits well. The delivery also went smoothly; I could first practice at the dealer, and then the bike was delivered to my home. On the dealer’s advice, I received guidance from an occupational therapist, which was very valuable.”
