Short introduction

"I am a meditation teacher and a completely optimist. I give meditation courses all over the world. I am married to the best woman there is. She donated one of her kidneys to me in 2010 and saved my life. We live with our children cats and Bernese mountain dog at Lake Constance."

Why a Van Raam bicycle?

"Before my kidney transplantation I liked to ride a bicycle. Since the transplantation I have been taking a lot of medication to prevent rejection. I got severe diabetes because of the medication and lost strength. I crashed with my bicycle and sold it afterwards. Then the Corona pandemic came and I looked for ways to be active again. I informed myself and learned that the electrically assisted tricycle was available from Van Raam. Now our dream should come true: a trip to the North Sea with the Easy Rider.

In spite of a lot of illness-related precipitation, it was the movement in nature that always uplifted us. The Easy Rider gives us the opportunity for this."

The Easy Rider is a path to freedom. It is wonderful to be on the road again.

Experience with the Easy Rider tricycle

"The Easy Rider is a path to freedom. Get up in the morning, meditate on the Easy Rider and off you go with swing and verve. That's how I get in the mood for the day. Joy of life and the blossoming freedom must be lived, this is what we want to convey in our project.

It is wonderful to be in motion again. My tricycle is called Oskar (also my dialysis machine was called that. It kept me alive until I was transplanted. She was my best friend back then) Now my tricycle is my best friend. I am very happy with it."

The purchase of the Easy Rider

"We drove to Treuchtlingen to Mr. Trojer in the Van Raam consulting center. I was able to try out the Easy Rider tricycle for adults and was completely convinced that this is what I wanted. So I immediately went to a dealer at home and ordered my tricycle as I had discussed it with Mr. Trojer. I paid for the bike brand-new from my own money and 3 days after picking it up from the dealer I am now on my way to the North Sea".

Showing that even people with limitations, like me, are able to realize their tricycle dreams.

Project: Trip from Lake Constance to the North Sea

"Together with our Bernese Mountain Dog Saphira we want to travel from our home at Lake Constance to the North Sea with the Easy Rider.

On this trip we want to encourage people to take time for themselves, to dare to ride a tricycle, to allow themselves to live with nature. We want to show that even people with limitations, like me, are able to realize their tricycle dreams in a sustainable, open and natural way.

In Niebüll we want to transfer to the island of Amrum where we will stay for 10 days and then return home. We ride between 30 and 50 km per day".

First week: Constance to Märkt (Weil am Rhein)

"We had a wonderful 1st tour with our Easy Rider on the way to the North Sea. We had sunshine riding through a quiet forest and then along the lake. The crossing was super nice. The lake showed itself from its most beautiful.

When we cycled from Hohentengen to Lüttingen it was a wonderful warm day. It was our dogs Saphira's birthday and she met a Bernese racing friend Pepe with whom she played."
