For people who can’t (no longer) cycle on a regular bike and who are wheelchair-dependent we have a good and safe alternative. The wheelchair bikes are used to enable a wheelchair –dependent person to travel by cycle. Van Raam special needs bikes has various types of wheelchairbikes: The OPair wheel-chair bike and the VeloPlus wheelchair transport bike. The bicycle is a popular means of transport. Besides the normal two-wheel bike, you see more and more special or adapted bikes in the streets. Research shows that many people do a Google search for an electric bicycle for disabled people. Van Raam produces special needs bicycles for people with a disability or a limitation. We see ourselves more as manufacturers of bicycles for people who have problems with a "normal" bike. We have several bicycles for disabled people and people with a problem when cycling. For this purpose we produce special two-wheelers, tricycles, children's tricycles, adult tricycles, tandems, duo bikes, wheelchair bikes, wheelchair transport bikes, a walking aid and a bicycle taxi for the transport of 8 children.
For the third consecutive year at Van Raam, we see the percentage of adult electrical tricycles with pedal support increase with several tens of percent. More and more people with a disability realize that an electric tricycle increases their mobility and improves their condition.
As a manufacturer of special needs bikes, we aim to offer sustainable and contemporary mobility to as many people as possible. We do this for people with disabilities, but also for people who no longer dare to ride a traditional two-wheeler because they are afraid of falling or suffer from balance problems.

Egbert-Jan Ruijs from Barchem (the Netherlands) shared the story of how he went bicycling, suddenly blacked out and fell on from his bike, with the Telegraaf (Dutch newspaper). After extensive examination Mr. Ruijs turned out to have a tumor in his brain.
