    A Van Raam special needs bike usually only comes into the picture when cycling on a conventional two-wheel bike is no longer possible. But what if you are (or someone else is) in a wheelchair and still want to feel the wind in your hair? Then the Van Raam VeloPlus wheelchair bike is the solution! Wheelchair bikes were taken into use at three care institutions in both the Netherlands and Belgium in the autumn of 2019. Read more about this in the article.

    Cargo bike Chat lets old people cycle together

    For our photo shoot with the newest bike of the Van Raam family, the Rickshaw Bike Chat, we asked the nursing home Azora Debbeshoek in Ulft if they are interested in being models on the photos. Soon there were two friends who enjoyed spending a day with us and a professional photographer. During the photo shoot many curious residents came out to admire the chat. To thank Azora and her residents for the cooperation, the home care center was allowed to use the bike for one week, so that all interested elderly people could cycle together on the cargo bike chat.

    On Wednesday 4 September 2019, Van Raam won the Eurobike Gold Award with her new rickshaw transport bike Chat. The Eurobike Award is one of the leading international design awards for companies in the bicycle industry. New and innovative products are assessed and evaluated by an independent panel of expert judges. The Chat ended in the first place in the category LEV & (E-)Special Purpose Bikes.     Liesbeth Snijder is using her OPair wheelchair bike from Van Raam as taxi in Epe, the Netherlands. She offers a cycling opportunity for people who are no longer able to cycle on their own anymore. Since April 2019, the OPair wheelchair bike has been used to take people from one place to another or for people who just want to take a bike ride.

    Rickshaw Chat: the social transport bike by Van Raam

    Since May 2019, Van Raam has expanded its range of adapted bicycles with the transport bike Chat. With the Chat rickshaw bicycle it is possible for a bicycle driver to transport two passengers. Thanks to the specially designed cockpit where design and ergonomics come together, passengers can enjoy a comfortable bike ride together.
