In 2008 I turned over with my bike and broke my knee. I underwent surgery during which the surgeons inserted at metal plate with ten screws into my lower leg. I had to stay in bed for 3 months because I wasn’t allowed to put pressure on my leg. I had to use a knee CPM (continuous passive motion) machine 7 hours a day to learn to bend my leg again and had to practice a lot. I walked on crutches for 6 months after the accidents and it took me a year to fully recover.

My Easy Sport tricycle and I are like Cinderella and her glass slipper, it is a perfect match! It took a while before we got to know each other, but it was worth it. Because I have a balance problem from birth, I was never able to cycle on a normal bike with two wheels. Driving and running is fine but cycling on a bike with two wheels did not work.

At the end of June, my wife and I saw by coincidence a flag from Van Raam in Waalwijk, the Netherlands. It turned out that Van Raam was there with a stand during the Medipoint Eropuit Days. Peter Cijs, representative of Van Raam, was also present at this stand, with whom we had a chat. My wife has been cycling on the adapted tricycle Easy Rider for a year now, so we were already familiar with the brand. When Peter Cijs asked if we wanted to contribute to a user experience, I agreed, but I have indicated that I am critical.
