The right posture on the Balance low step through bike

Before you start cycling with the Van Raam Balance, it is important that you find the right posture. The Balance bike with a low step-in can be adjusted to suit you at four points:

  1. The height of the saddle
  2. The height of the handlebars
  3. The angle of the handlebars
  4. The direction of the handlebar stem

In the following we will explain all the points and how you can adjust them correctly so that cycling becomes even easier and more comfortable and your overall cycling comfort increases.

1. Adjust the height of the saddle

Set the saddle height correctly by sitting on the bike with both feet well on the ground. In this position, the leg should be extended but still relaxed. To adjust the saddle:

1. Loosen thequick release.
2. Slide the saddle to the correct height.
3. Tighten the quick release again.

2. Adjusting the height of the handlebars

The height of the handlebars influences riding comfort. It determines the pressure on the hands and the posture of the back. You determine the most comfortable position yourself in practice. To adjust the handlebars:

  1. Loosen the screw by turning it a few times with an Allen key.
  2. Push the handlebar into the correct position and then tighten the screw again.

3. Adjusting the angle of the handlebars

The handlebars can be tilted. This affects the distance between the handlebars and the upper body. In practice, you decide for yourself which position is most comfortable for you. To tilt the handlebars:

  1. Loosen the screws and by a few turns with an Allen key.
  2. Tilt the handlebars to the desired position and then tighten the screws again.

4. The direction of the handlebar stem

Furthermore, the direction of the stem can also be reversed. This changes the distance between the upper body and the handlebars, which has an effect on riding comfort.

Especially for people with shorter arms, it is a good way to sit straighter and get a better steering response. You can adjust this at your dealer depending on your arm length.
