Discovering new mobility
"My name is Willem Franck, 73 years old, and my working life revolved around interacting with people and organizations, something I still enjoy doing. Recently, I went along as driver and companion for an 87-year-old friend who wants to become more mobile. She wants to get out independently, going a bit further than her walker allows. Following the occupational therapist’s advice, we scheduled a test ride at vanRaam. It was useful for me as well, as due to neuropathy I may also be eligible for a special bike in the coming years."
Real service still exists
"What an amazing range of special bikes. But above all: what service! The advisor spent almost an hour and a half with us. We received all the explanations we could ask for, and my friend tried out several bikes: first the Thuja, then the Easy Rider Compact, and the Easy Go, both indoors and outdoors. Everything was done at a calm pace, very important for someone who hadn’t cycled for a year and a half to two years. And there was absolutely no pressure to choose. You don’t actually buy a bike like this directly from vanRaam, but from the local bike shop. I had almost forgotten that this kind of service still exists. That old-fashioned, personal level of service still exists, which was a pleasant surprise for us. Keep this wonderful tradition alive.
