Thuja e-bike Customer Experience - Elly Denneman

Due to stenosis, Elly could no longer mount her bicycle. During a birthday celebration, she heard about vanRaam and discovered the Thuja. In this customer experience, she shares more about her experience.
Introduction
“My name is Elly Denneman. I am 74 years old and have been living with my husband in Heemskerk (NL) for 50 years. Due to back problems, stenosis, I could no longer mount my own bicycle. As a result, I lost my freedom, and I very much wanted to regain it.”
From a Tip at a Birthday to a New Bicycle
“During a birthday celebration of a family member, I mentioned that I would really like to cycle again. Someone then said: ‘My mother has a vanRaam bicycle.’ After that, I started searching and ended up on the vanRaam website.
In the end, I bought the Thuja e-bike. It comes with pedal assistance as standard. I would not want to be without it, as my previous bicycle had it as well. Apart from that, I do not have any additional accessories on the bicycle.”

Setting Out Independently Again
“I use the bicycle to visit family and friends again. Normally, I depended on my husband for that, because I cannot drive a car myself. I also receive many reactions from people. They often say: ‘It’s great that you’ve done this.’
A major advantage is that I can easily mount the Thuja e-bike. What I do find a pity, however, is that the lid of the cargo unit does not stay open when I want to charge the battery.
The Thuja gives me a great deal of freedom and has given me back my independence. I give the e-bike a 9. A 10 feels immediately so high.”
