Customer Experience Easy Rider Tricycle - Marian Beijes
Because I have MS, I am very unstable and have reduced strength in my right leg. Thanks to the Easy Rider tricycle, I'm no longer afraid of falling! Read more about my experience here.
Marian's Easy Rider Tricycle
"I'm Marian Beijes, 66 years old and from Zuidbroek, the Netherlands. I'm married and have two children and two (grown-up) grandchildren. As a hobby, I'm still involved in the most beautiful profession there is: florist! I really enjoy giving flower arranging courses to groups.
I have Multiple Sclerosis (MS), which makes me very unstable. Additionally, I have reduced strength in my right leg. Since May 2022, on the advice of the Wmo (Social Support Act), I've had the vanRaam Easy Rider tricycle! In terms of options and accessories, I have electric pedal support, a stick holder, a mirror, a basket, and lower leg fixation so my right leg doesn't fall inwards."
This bike means everything to me, especially now that walking is becoming more difficult.
Cycling with Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
"I use my Easy Rider tricycle almost daily for all sorts of things. Annually, I cycle around 3,500 kilometres. This bike means everything to me, especially now that walking is becoming more difficult. I find it so wonderful to be able to cycle together again, at the same speed, with my perfectly healthy husband and friends. I'm also no longer afraid of falling at all! I now really enjoy cycling and I don't let narrow paths deter me. My cycling enjoyment has increased considerably! The only downside I sometimes find is its size. We often take the bike with us on a trailer, on the train, or when we go on holiday, we rent a camper van with an XL garage where the bike fits underneath.
Thanks to the Easy Rider, my husband and I have made some beautiful trips together, for example, the 'Pieterpad' cycling route. We also went on holiday to Austria, where you can easily cycle around the lakes with the tricycle. Especially abroad, you get a lot of surprised looks. Here in my local area, I've already managed to enthuse many people about the tricycle! I just think: you can always sit behind the geraniums later. The Easy Rider gets a 10 out of 10 from me!"
