Van Raam makes special needs bikes, these bikes are suitable for almost everyone who can no longer cycle (well) on a regular bicycle. A low entry bike is necessary for some people, because they can no longer get on and off their bike properly. Van Raam has the bike with two wheels Balance and the trike Maxi Comfort with a low entry and unique frame in its assortment. Read more about these comfort bikes here.
Van Raam is specialised in special needs bicycles. These can be tricycles, but also tandems, wheelchair bikes, a scooter bike or a double rider cycle. Many of these bikes have three or more wheels, but Van Raam also has bikes with two wheels. In the video below, we will show you how the (electric) Balance bike works. The Balance low step through bike by Van Raam is a comfort bike with a low step through and a uniquely designed frame. With the Balance bike you can always place both your feet on the ground without getting off the saddle and cycle with a comfortable movement of your legs.
The history of the low entry bike Tavara by Piet Tauber and Van Raam, goes back to 1985. At the bicycle RAI in 1985, architect Piet Tauber was presented with a prize by Mrs. Kroes as the winner of the Bicycle Safe competition presented by the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works.
