The Dutch television tested the Velo plus wheelchair transport bicycle. This is an electric wheelchair transporter made by Van Raam.
A care center greatest wish was to have a wheelchair transport bicycle. The Rotaryclub in Haarlem has organised a collection for a wheelchair bike and they bought one. The Dutch television wanted to test the VeloPlus.
The testing was done in an extreme way. They did everything with the bike, cycling in the snow, climbing up a big hill and cycling in extreme cold. This was a fully independent test of the wheelchair transport bike, we found it on you tube. At the 75th jubilee celebration of the National Association de Zonnebloem on September 4, 2024, the Dutch King Willem-Alexander brought smiles to faces. Together with participant Ida, he took a joyful ride on the Zonnebloem bike. "I can't help it," the king remarked about his swift overtaking maneuvers with the wheelchair bike.
Sterre Tesselaar (17) suffered oxygen deprivation during her birth, which left her severely disabled physically. Despite limitations, she can enjoy beautiful moments in life, such as taking a ride on the Van Raam VeloPlus wheelchair bike. In the ANWB Magazine Kampioen Sterre tells more.
From September 14 to 18 2022, the third edition of the Limitless Eleven Cities Tour took place. A tour organised by the Leef! Foundation in which anyone with a chronic disease or disability can participate. Many participants took part with a special needs bike from Van Raam. Read more here.
