The Balance 2 has a number of changes compared to its previous version. Check out the five biggest differences below.

Verschil tussen 1e en 2e generatie Van Raam lage instapfiets Balance - instap

1. Entry

The Balance 1 has a low entry-level, but the Balance 2 has a very low entry-level. This makes getting on and off the Balance very easy. You hardly need to lift your leg at all.

Differences between 1st and 2nd generation Van Raam low entry bike Balance - design

2. Design

The Balance 2 has a more modern and fresh design, compared to the Balance 1. The frame of the Balance 2 has a tighter look.

There are also more matte black accents on the Balance 2, such as the mudguards (which are also wider), the front fork and the luggage carrier (which also has an updated look). On the Balance 1, these parts have silver colours.

The Balance 2 also has new decals and logos on the frame. These are the stickers on the tube under the saddle, the large 'Van Raam' sticker and the emblem on the front of the steering head.

3. Lock

The lock on the Balance 2 is on the rear wheel, making it easy to lock the bike. On the Balance 1, the lock is at the front wheel.

4. Chain guard

The Balance 2's chain guard is injection-moulded instead of the Balance 1's vacuum-formed chain guard. This injection-moulded material is strong, long-lasting and less likely to discolour.
