5 questions for Van Raam Premium Dealer Alb-Store Eislingen
Gert Wiedemann has been a graduate engineer at Alb-Store Eislingen in Eislingen since the company was founded on 1 July 1985. In this article he answers some questions so that you can get to know the company better and also learn what makes it special.
1. Why did Alb-Store Eislingen become a Van Raam Premium dealer?
We have been selling Van Raam bikes since 28 July 2012. The enthusiasm of the clientele about Easy Rider and Fun2Go convinced me so much. When I got to meet the people at Van Raam in person, I was blown away by the product and the people behind it.
After initial development work in the automotive industry, we started with electrically assisted bicycles in 2010. In 2012, we welcomed our first Easy Rider customer, who still actively supports us with our projects today. In addition to her own Easy Rider, we were able to set up a rental system with Fun2Go, OPair, VeloPlus and Easy Rider tricycles in the district.
In addition to these joint activities, the first barrier-free cycle routes were developed in the district together with the ADFC. Our way also led to the rehabilitation clinic in Bad Wildbad. In the meantime, therapies are being developed there that can be implemented with the tricycle. To make it easier for people with limited mobility to travel as independently as possible, new ways were sought. Our home community, together with a year group, has purchased its own Fun2Go for all interested citizens.
The enthusiasm of the clientele about Easy Rider and Fun2Go has convinced me so much.
Gert Wiedemann2. How do you help customers who are looking for a Van Raam bicycle?
Test ride
After making an appointment, we meet our prospective customers in the workshop. There, even in adverse weather, first experiences and tests with different models can be made in a quiet and cool environment. We also take the time to demonstrate the neurological exercises with the tricycle in detail. Apart from plenty of space in the workshop. There is a moderate incline in front of and next to the customer car park for doing laps on- and off-road.
Our showroom is right next to the workshop. So during a test ride, there are options that can be fitted to a bike.
Purchasing
The process from a test ride to order is as follows: The customer comes for a test ride, after which we make a suitable offer. When the customer orders the bike, it is completely checked, and the adjustments are made to suit the customer. Afterwards, the bike is delivered to the customer.
For me as a medical professional, it was fascinating to see the knowledge Mr. Wiedemann has in the field of neurology.

We help customers who already have a Van Raam bicycle with service maintenance and delivery of spare parts. Customers can also trade in a bike with us.
4. What is your best experience of a customer with a Van Raam bicycle?
A customer wrote me this great message:"I bought an Easy Rider from Van Raam in November 2019 from Mr Wiedemann. The advice was exceptional. I am a physiotherapist myself and chronically seriously ill. I was impressed by how competent and detailed Mr Wiedemann's advice was. His statements are correct and convincing. In addition to the technical qualifications, I havebeen able to acquire a lot of experience in the neurological evaluation of movement and the mode of action in tricycling. The cooperation with the Swiss Paraplegic Centre, the neurological Sana Clinic Bad Wildbad, the HSH-Lamprecht practice and other therapists enables me to respond individually to the needs of my clientele and to develop adapted concepts for the use of the tricycle. The experiences I have also made with senior citizens' and old people's homes as well as with families with handicapped children have shown me how important the tandems can also be and what joy the customers experience with them.
Insurance
The bicycle can be insured through the household insurance. We do not offer financing options.
