Customer experience OPair wheelchair trike - Annick and Joël Vérité

With our OPair wheelchair bike, we go on lots of rides together, either near our home or when we are on holiday.
Looking for a new mobility solution
Joël: "My wife Annick and I are retired. We live in Maine-et-Loire. Annick has multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system. Her motor skills have gradually deteriorated.
Four years ago, we started looking for an adapted bike. I am passionate about cycling and wanted to continue going on rides with my wife. At first, we bought an electric tandem with independent pedalling. But it proved difficult to handle, and we had problems with balance. So we looked for a new, more stable solution.
At the beginning of 2022, we did some research on the internet and discovered the OPair wheelchair bike from vanRaam. We then met with the dealer AFAC Cycles Location, who confirmed that we had made the right choice."
Cycling together, every day and on holiday
Annick: ‘We use our OPair wheelchair bike near our home, for short rides and to go to the market on Sunday mornings.’
Joël: "We take it on holiday too. To do this, I modified a 4-bike rack and added two removable ramps so that I can load it on my own without any effort. During our holidays, we usually cover between 30 and 50 km a day on a single battery charge. I mainly stay in mode 1, as I regularly go mountain biking. We choose regions without too many hills for more enjoyment."
What is so great about your OPair wheelchair bike?
Joël: "It's stable, sturdy and very comfortable to drive. I also appreciate the quality of the suspension and braking system. The wheelchair at the front can be detached and used on its own, which allows us to have a drink or lunch at a restaurant. It also makes transport possible, otherwise we wouldn't be able to take our OPair bike outside the house."
