Customer experience Thuja e-bike - Hervé
I tested the Thuja bike: it is very easy and natural to ride, both on the road and on grass or small paths. It goes everywhere. The front basket is practical. I can imagine using it for shopping or even for long rides.
How I discovered vanRaam bikes
My name is Hervé, and I live in Caen. I regularly ride my bike around town and on greenways. I use a mountain bike or a road bike, depending on the terrain. I also like to take my longboard out from time to time.
Three years ago, I started looking for a tricycle for my 90-year-old father, who suffers from balance issues. After searching online, I discovered the vanRaam brand and the Fun2Go duo bike, which has many possible adaptations.
Riding on the Fun2Go tandem bike
I then went to the dealer calles Roulez JEUnesse Loisirs where I metJérôme, the owner. I rented the Fun2Go and went for a ride with my dad on the greenway: we rode 25 kilometers in 2 hours and 40 minutes, along a river in the countryside. This route is called La Vélo Francette: it crosses Caen and goes all the way to the sea at Ouistreham. On the other side, you can ride all the way to La Rochelle.
With the Fun2Go, my dad can choose to cycle with me or cycle more slowly, take a break, and then set off again. It's great, I've finally found the bike I wanted to ride with him! Since this first successful experience, I rent the Fun2Go whenever the weather is nice.
The Thuja electric bike is stable and pleasant to ride
Jérôme invited me to test the Thuja, vanRaam's new electric bike, in early February 2026. I took a lovely hour-long ride through the center of Caen, along the riverbanks and through the Hippodrome park.
The Thuja is a very good electric bike, and it looks really nice. It's stable, and I found it very pleasant to ride right from the start. It feels natural. I also tested it in tight turns: it handles very well.
It's well equipped, with a large basket at the front, which is handy for keeping your belongings in sight.

Convenient for rides in the city and countryside
I find the Thuja very handy in the city. It's quite narrow at the front, which means it can go anywhere. I've also tested it on grass and on a small path: it rides very well.
I can definitely see myself using this bike for shopping trips and even for long rides in the countryside!
