Gertrud is 71 and has now been riding her Easy Rider Compact tricycle for a year and a half. After falling off her previous electric bicycle, she and her husband began looking for a safe bicycle that would enable her to enjoy going out again. She has now covered almost 1,000 kilometres.
Cycling safely and independently again
The reason Gertrud started looking for a tricycle was a fall from her previous electric bicycle. She fractured a sesamoid bone in her foot. After that, one thing was particularly important to her: being able to cycle safely again, with enjoyment and without fear.
Together with her husband, Gertrud began looking for a bicycle that would genuinely suit her. The search took approximately nine months. In the end, she chose the Easy Rider Compact tricycle, which was fully adapted to her needs with various modifications.
“On my Easy Rider Compact, I feel very safe in traffic. I am more visible and can cover longer distances. The bicycle gives me a great deal of confidence, particularly when starting and stopping. I am no longer afraid of falling off.”
My personal freedom has increased. I can go out more independently again.
Out and about every day
Gertrud uses her bicycle every day. She uses it to do her shopping, go to the hairdresser and visit the swimming pool. In her free time, she goes on bike rides with her husband. The Easy Rider Compact also comes along when they go away in their motorhome.
“My personal freedom has increased as a result. I can go out more independently again, and cycling helps me to stay active. As I can no longer walk very far, my range has increased as well.”
Gertrud regularly receives enthusiastic reactions while she is out and about. “People often speak to me. They are curious about the bicycle and react enthusiastically. I like that.”
A bicycle that suits her
Gertrud’s Easy Rider Compact is equipped with various options, including electric pedal assist, a mirror, a thumb throttle, foot fixation that enables her to secure her right foot to the pedal, and a stick holder. Thanks to these modifications, she can use the bicycle properly and safely.
One point Gertrud considers less convenient is transportation. Because of its weight and dimensions, the bicycle does not fit in an ordinary car. Fortunately, it fits in the garage of their motorhome.
Excellent support from the dealer
Gertrud is completely satisfied with her Easy Rider Compact. She gives the bicycle a 10 out of 10. She is also very pleased with her dealer, Dreirad-Zentrum Ulm.
