Customer experience Twinny Plus e tandem - Liesbeth and Nico
We are Nico (80) and Liesbeth (77) Valk. Due to health issues, cycling became increasingly difficult, but with the Twinny Plus e tandem, we can safely and leisurely hit the road together again. This bike has truly given us back our freedom and joy!
Continuing to Cycle Together
“We are Nico and Liesbeth Valk. Over the years, we have always cycled together, although it became increasingly difficult with time. Nico has had surgery on both knees, and I, Liesbeth, have an eye condition: retinitis pigmentosa (tunnel vision). Getting on and off our previous tandem became more and more challenging, and narrow bike paths were also a problem.”
Looking for the Right Solution
“Nico started searching for a tandem with a low step-through. During his search, he came across vanRaam. In January 2025, we went to the showroom in Varsseveld for a test ride. We were greeted warmly and received expert assistance. The advisor took plenty of time for us and really thought along with our situation.
We chose the Twinny Plus, a stable e tandem with a spacious, low step-through. An extra advantage is that the frame can be separated, so we can transport the bike in our van. This way, we can take the bike to different places. And the Twinny Plus even fits in our shed."
Because the bike has three wheels, it's very stable, and we no longer have to dismount. That gives me peace of mind, because now I'm certain that we can't fall over.
Safe, Stable, and On the Road Together
"At first, it took some getting used to, especially for Nico. But now we're enjoying it immensely and have already cycled quite a few kilometers. It's going great!
For me, Liesbeth, this tandem is a huge boon. Because the bike has three wheels, it's very stable, and we no longer have to dismount. That gives me peace of mind, because now I'm certain that we can't fall over. Getting on and off is also effortless now. I completely mastered steering after a few hours of practice. That's very important for my brain and gives me a lot of confidence."
