‘Grateful that I will be turning 80 in four weeks,’ is how Anny introduces herself. Positive, active and happy with life. On 12 April 2022, she was involved in an accident that left her unable to cycle for almost five years. During that time, her husband John went out cycling alone. But since 1 June 2026, they have been cycling together again on the vanRaam Fun2Go side-by-side tandem.

Cycling together again

Missing out on cycling together was difficult. For almost five years, Anny’s husband had to go out alone while she had to stay at home. The Fun2Go side-by-side tandem changed all that. With support from the WMO in Baarle-Nassau, they were able to purchase the tandem, and they have been making full use of it ever since. In less than two months, they had already clocked up 700 kilometres. ‘You don’t need to ask how happy we are with it,’ says Anny.

Wonderful rides in the local area

With a powerful battery on board, Anny and her husband can enjoy proper outings. The cycle paths around Baarle-Nassau are beautiful, and they adapt easily to the traffic along the way. ‘If someone is approaching from the opposite direction, we adapt and make room.’ The tandem is comfortable to ride, and together they can once again enjoy everything cycling has to offer.

Not a single drawback

Anny is enthusiastic about the spacious front basket and the clear display. Any drawbacks? Not a single one. ‘Not a single drawback,’ she says without hesitation. For Anny, the Fun2Go side-by-side tandem is more than just a bicycle. It represents a return to freedom, exercise and enjoying outings together with her husband.
