1. Why did Thuismobiel.nl Putten become a Van Raam premium dealer?
“The idea for this company arose from our drive to make life easier and more mobile for people. As the owner of Thuismobiel.nl Putten and Driewielfietskopen.nl, and with a background in the mobility aids industry, I know how important it is to offer mobility products that help people increase their independence.
We have a large and constantly changing selection of tricycles from various brands. We have been a Van Raam dealer for 11 years because we believe that everyone, regardless of age or medical issues, should be able to ride a bike. Together with Van Raam, we try to make this possible. By being a premium dealer, we can provide excellent support for Van Raam in central Netherlands.”
2. How do you help customers looking for a Van Raam bike?
“In a personal conversation, we discuss your wishes. Then, together, we look for the ideal bike for you. All Van Raam options are possible with us, so we can fully customise the bike to your needs. This personal conversation is, of course, completely non-binding. Our team specialises in tricycles and has years of experience. We have a unique location in the middle of the Netherlands.”
Taking a test ride
“We use a test track that is partly outdoors and partly indoors, so we can simulate real-life situations. We also often cycle with customers through neighbourhoods to see how they react to unexpected situations. No bike leaves our shop until we are sure the customer can handle it. It is often difficult to ride a tricycle at first, so we want to make sure customers can keep practising until it feels completely natural.”

“First, customers make an appointment for a test ride and consultation. During this, we compare different models. Thanks to our close cooperation with therapists, we can provide medical feedback: what best suits your needs. We practise together on the test track and, after ordering your bike, it is delivered to your location. We also have around 40-50 bikes in stock and we accept trade-ins of second-hand bikes.”
3. How does Thuismobiel.nl Putten assist customers who already own a Van Raam bike?
“If you already own a Van Raam bike, we offer on-site service, roadside assistance (via insurance), and maintenance for all brands of tricycles.”
4. What is your best customer experience with a Van Raam bike?
“We have a number of well-known Dutch people among our customers. The most beautiful moment for me was when one of them said: ‘This is the best gift I’ve received in 30 years. I have my freedom back.’ There is nothing better than seeing that our products help people regain their independence and no longer have to rely on others. Actually, every delivery is the best! You see people enjoying things they couldn’t do before. We sometimes say to customers: ‘We sell freedom’.”

“We are a unique dealer because we maintain short lines of communication with both the customer and Van Raam. By appointment, the customer gets plenty of time to practise and compare. This appointment is one-on-one to ensure peace and focus on cycling and the explanation. In addition, we have extensive experience with all brands and models in our shop. We work closely with occupational therapists and physiotherapists to give you the best advice.”
