Customer experience Easy Rider tricycle - Klazien van de Kuinder
Klazien is 78 years old and has been riding an Easy Rider from vanRaam since September 2024. She ventures out on it almost every day. The bike gives het exactly what she wanted so much: the ability to get out and about again, do her shopping and fully enjoy her freedom.
Cycling is part of her daily life again
Klazien used to ride a standard electric bike. Because of her osteoporosis and a condition affecting her arms, this became increasingly difficult. She therefore decided to sell her bike. “But I love cycling and I really missed it.”
Through the Wmo (Dutch Social Support Act), she was able to try out several bikes. A tricycle that closely resembled a standard bicycle with a saddle did not quite suite her. During a test ride on the Easy Rider, she quickly realized that this model better matched her needs: a bike on which she could get out and about comfortably and confidently again.
I had no trouble getting used to the tricycle. I was simply delighted.
"I rode off on it straight away"
The test ride took place in the car park at Medipoint. After receiving a clear explanation, Klazien got on the Easy Rider. “I rode off on it straight away. According to the member of staff, I was a natural.”
Getting used to the bike happened naturally. “I had no trouble getting used to it and was simply delighted. This was going to be the one.”
The Easy Rider was fully adapted to Klazien’s preferences in a few respects. For example, additional suspension was provided and attention was paid to ensuring a comfortable position for her arms.
Singing her way out almost every day
Klazien is incredibly happy with her Easy Rider and rides it almost every day. “I catch myself singing whenever I’m cycling. That’s how happy it makes me.”
The bike’s manoeuvrability is what stands out to her the most. “It’s unbelievably manoeuvrable. I can get anywhere.” Whether she is going shopping or simply taking a ride, Klazien is happy to get on her bike.
Cycling home
Klazien lives on the eighth floor. As a special exception, she is allowed to keep her bike outside her front door. With the front door turned slightly, the Easy Rider fits perfectly in the lift. She can charge the bike from her home using an extension lead.
Klazien does find the battery somewhat impractical, as she cannot easily remove it from the bike herself.
The Easy Rider has brought the joy of cycling back into Klazien’s daily life. She can go out independently, get almost anywhere with ease and enjoy every ride.
