Customer Experience Easy Rider Compact tricycle - Anémone

My name is Anémone, and I’m 35 years old. I go on lots of rides with my Easy Rider Compact tricycle, and I’m about to set off on a big trip all the way to Cornwall. My bike has changed my life!
Looking for a new bike
My name is Anémone Sunier. I’m 35 years old and I have a degree in graphic design. I live in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, in the canton of Neuchâtel.
Last year, I felt like taking up cycling because I was seeing more and more people doing it. My sister took me to a store in Bern that sells adapted tricycles, where a salesperson immediately showed me the Easy Rider tricycle of vanRaam.
I tried it and loved it: it gives you an incredible sense of freedom!

I can take care of myself: I get on the bus by myself, and I buckle my seatbelt by myself, too. Given my disability, independence is my top priority—it’s very important to me.
The price made me think; I wondered if I really wanted a vanRaam tricycle and if I would actually use it regularly.
So I looked for a basic tricycle, just to see, but I realized I couldn’t climb onto it by myself and buckle in. I wasn’t independent. And I was scared: the seat was too high, and I was tense. Whereas on the vanRaam, the pedals are positioned at the front. With my occupational therapist, I tried another tricycle, from a different brand, but that didn’t work either.
So I made a decision: “It’s the vanRaam or nothing!”
What I like most about my Easy Rider Compact is the sense of freedom it gives me. I can honestly say that my vanRaam has changed my life!
"The Easy Rider Compact tricycle is my soulmate!”
I looked for a dealer in France and found Colibrius online. It has great reviews; I’ve read that they provide excellent customer service and good advice. I tried the Easy Rider Compact tricycle with Jean-Louis Saugier, Colibrius owner.
And I thought to myself: “That’s the one! This bike is my soulmate!”
Jean-Louis offered to lend it to me for a few days, but I was sure of my decision, so I ordered it right away.
Freedom on every ride
In just three months, I’d already covered 1,000 kilometers! In France, the bike paths are fantastic. I went on one ride after another, in Belfort, Baume-les-Dames…
I have a physical disability called tetraparesis: my body gets tired more quickly, and I experience pain when I walk for long periods. On a bike, that’s not the case at all—I feel a sense of freedom!
And that’s what I love most about my Easy Rider Compact tricycle: the sense of freedom it gives me. I feel different sensations in my body: I’m not held back, I can go fast, explore new scenery, and do whatever I want. When I set out on my bike in the morning, I’m in my own world; it helps me focus, I breathe deeply, and there’s also a real rush of adrenaline.
My vanRaam tricycle also lets me strike up conversations with pedestrians or other cyclists: my bike sparks curiosity, and my seat makes people jealous!
I can say that I’m in love with my bike: my vanRaam has changed my life!

From one adventure to the next, all the way to Cornwall — always by bike!
I'm currently planning an amazing project: I'm going to bike from Belfort all the way to Cornwall.
A few years ago, I read Lucy Diamond’s book, The Beach Café (2020). It’s the story of a girl who’s starting over in Cornwall. When I got my vanRaam, something just clicked in my head, and I said to myself, “I’m going to explore Cornwall on my vanRaam!” This trip represents a kind of redemption; I want to win back what I’ve lost.
I’ll be going alone, but several people are helping me put this project together: Jean-Louis Saugier from Colibrius, an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, and my partner.
I’ll be setting off in early June. I’ll take a route that follows the Loire River, then cross Brittany and take the ferry at Roscoff. I plan to cycle 50 kilometers a day, alternating between three days of cycling and one day of rest. I don’t want to rush through it; I’m going at my own pace. My goal is freedom!
