D'ran in practice
At vanRaam, we believe that progress starts with taking action. For our customers, that often means something life changing. It might be being able to cycle independently to the shops again or enjoying a bike ride with family and friends. But you can also see that same spirit throughout our workplace. In the way colleagues work together, how ideas come to life, and above all, in the way people take ownership. That's what D'ran is all about.
D'ran is a local expression deeply rooted in the Achterhoek region where vanRaam was founded. There is no direct English translation, but you'll quickly understand what it means when you walk around our company. You don't wait for someone else to take the lead. You spot an opportunity, contribute ideas and take action. You get started while others are still hesitating, walk over to another department to get something sorted more quickly, or simply test an idea to see if it works. You don't focus on obstacles. You focus on possibilities and finding a way forward.
As CEO Jan-Willem Boezel puts it:
"We've never done it before, so we think it can be done. We focus on possibilities, even when something hasn't been done before."
Moving forward together
At vanRaam, we like to get things done. Colleagues share ideas, act quickly and help each other move forward whenever something can be improved or done more efficiently. Not just because someone asks them to, but because we're all working towards the same goal.
