Customer experience Easy Rider tricycle - Margot Rust
Margot lives in the canton of Zug in Switzerland and has multiple sclerosis (MS). Since June 2022, she has been riding het Easy Rider tricycle with electric pedal assistance. After a serious setback in her health, the tricycle gave her a great deal of freedom back.
A chance discovery
Because of her MS, Margot experiences a lot of pain and has difficulty walking. She relies on a wheelchair. One day, she saw a woman riding a tricycle and thought, “Perhaps that could be something for me too.” She made an appointment with a dealer.
There, she first took a test ride on a tricycle from another brand, but it wasn’t quite right for her legs. Her husband then sat on a vanRaam tricycle and immediately said that she should try it. “It was pure chance. But yes, this one was perfect.”
Enjoying the mountains and lakes
Margot uses her Easy Rider to enjoy the outdoors and to do her shopping locally. How often and how far she cycles depends on how she feels that day, how much pain she is in and, “of course, the weather”, she says.
It is the rides through the countryside that move her most. “Every ride into the mountains or along the lakes is a moving experience for me. Then I feel that the condition doesn’t completely limit me.”
It means everything to me. I’m no longer confined to the house; I can take part in life again.
A bike that suits her
Margot’s Easy Rider is fitted with various options. As she lives on a slope, the hill-climbing gears and electric pedal assistance help her get up the hill. She uses the thumb throttle when she runs out of strength. She also has a holder for her crutches. With them, she can now take a few steps again.
“The biggest advantage is that the bike absolutely cannot tip over. The comfort is great too. It’s very user-friendly, and the seat gives me the stability I need. The tricycle exceeds my expectations.”
She can’t think of any real disadvantages. “At most, my husband and son occasionally have to replace something or carry out maintenance,” she says. “The tricycle is perfect for me.”
Encouraging others
Margot gives her Easy Rider a score of 10. “After my serious setback, it gave me a new world full of joy for life.” She is also very happy with the ordering process and the dealer’s service.
She wants to show what is possible again with the right bike. That is why she wrote the book How my E-motion Therapeutic Tricycle Changed My Life with MS (ISBN: 9783991881957). “I’d really like to encourage other people in a similar situation.”
For Margot, the Easy Rider means, above all, that she is independent again and can take part in life once more.
